One of my favorite parts of Wednesday Night Cocktail Club is the creativity on display! Each week, the host tries to impress / one-up everyone else by coming up with a new theme and finding cocktail recipes and snacks to match. It’s a lot of fun hosting everyone, but then it’s also a lot of fun to take a break and let others host us. We can’t take any credit for Fire and Ice Night: we just showed up and appreciated our friends’ cocktail recipes and amazing music playlist to match!

The highlight of the night may have been the drink that we lit on fire, but let’s face it, that’s not really an average Wednesday night kind of activity. Here I’m sharing with you the welcome drink, a gorgeous Fireball whiskey cocktail that would be perfect for Thanksgiving all the way through the winter holiday season, preferably sitting by a crackling fire in the hearth. Of course, we drank it in the 100-degree heat of an April month in Qatar, but we’re used to the heat here.

To make a Fireball whiskey cocktail, fill an old-fashioned glass with a large ice cube, and pour in one part Fireball (cinnamon-flavored) whiskey to four parts ginger beer. Stir to mix with a cinnamon stick wrapped in an orange peel twist (fancy!), and sprinkle in a few whole cloves to garnish. Cheers!
